Summary of Facts:
Plaintiff K.C., a minor female, was reportedly a passenger in a pickup truck operated by her father, Brett Cornett, traveling westbound on Interstate Highway 90 in La Crosse County, Wis. The minor plaintiff contended that the vehicle in which she was a passenger was struck by another pickup truck traveling eastbound on Interstate Highway 90, operated by defendant Matthew Clark and insured by defendant West Bend Mutual Insurance Company.

The plaintiff said that Clark lost control of his pickup truck and traveled through the highway median before striking her father's truck head-on.

The plaintiff reportedly suffered personal injuries due to the accident, which included a forehead laceration and probable concussion, as well as anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The plaintiff also reportedly suffered a permanent scar located adjacent to the corner of her left eyebrow.

In a complaint, the plaintiff asserted that Clark's negligent driving, which included failing to maintain proper control over his pickup truck and driving through a median and into the opposite lane of travel on the highway, caused the collision and her resulting injuries and damages.

The parties agreed to resolve the plaintiff's claims arising from the collision in exchange for the West Bend Mutual Insurance's payment of $110,000 on behalf of Clark, and sought court approval of the settlement.

The court approved the settlement terms.
